Together, these venues offer nearly nine different escape room games, allowing players to choose based on their preferred story background and difficulty.

The escape room themes available at the studio include Taichung-exclusive options like "Wuren New Village," "Entrance Ceremony," and "Ping An Theater," as well as other choices such as "Deadly Chains," "The Upside-Down Room," and "Ghost Bride." Each theme is recommended for 4 to 10 players, with a total game experience lasting approximately 90 to 100 minutes, which includes pre-game rule explanations and post-game plot debriefings.

All escape room sessions are by online reservation. You can check available slots and make bookings through the official website. Game fees are tiered based on the number of participants. A hint mechanism is available during the game, allowing players to exchange for hints according to the on-site rules to help them progress smoothly.

In a pitch-black room, red laser beams crisscross, the air thick with tension, the only sounds your own heartbeat and the hushed breaths of your teammates. This was the adrenaline-pumping bank heist scene Tessa and her four-person team faced in Bendian Studio's Taichung Escape Rooms theme, "Robber Bank."

The most memorable part of this experience was the action sequences, straight out of a Mission: Impossible movie. Players aren't just problem-solvers; they're agile thieves, using their hands and feet to duck and weave through a web of laser beams. The dim lighting, the pressure of the countdown timer, and the shouts of teammates all combine to push everyone's focus to the absolute limit.

The goal of "Robber Bank" is simple: not only to escape successfully but also to grab as much treasure as possible within the time limit. This adds an extra layer of competitive and cooperative fun, testing the team's ability to work together seamlessly. Bendian Studio's scene and mechanism design are truly commendable; from the moment you step into the bank, the immersion is complete, making you feel like a group of seasoned robbers.

The Taichung Escape Rooms here are designed in two main modes: one balances traditional puzzle-solving with mechanical operations, while the other offers a fully interactive, mechanism-driven experience. Players can choose based on their preferences. The games accommodate flexible team sizes from 2 to 12 people, making them suitable for various group activities, such as friends' gatherings or corporate team-building events.

The Flagship branch, where this experience took place, is a three-story standalone building featuring five themes and a spacious reception and waiting area. Taichung Escape Rooms reach a new level of terror with the "Huizhen Girls' High School" theme, as I, Shiyang, discovered firsthand. Even before stepping onto the campus, the eerie music and plot of the introductory video alone were enough to make the air thick with dread, signaling an extreme test of courage.

The moment you enter, the musty scent of an abandoned school fills your nostrils. The peeling paint on the walls, the disheveled desks and chairs, and the faint shadows lurking in the depths of the hallway immediately draw you into the scene. The sense of depth is incredible; each door you open feels like stepping into an unknown abyss of fear, as if you can still hear whispers from the past.

The horror of this escape room comes from its meticulously crafted atmosphere and the elusive NPCs. When sudden sounds shatter the silence, my teammates and I shrieked in unison, clutching at each other's clothes, trembling so much it felt incredibly real. Under such extreme fear, my mind often went blank. Fortunately, the puzzles were clear, focusing on observation and teamwork, and solving them offered a brief moment of relief and accomplishment.

Although fear ultimately made my brain go offline, preventing a successful escape, "Huizhen Girls' High School" is definitely the pinnacle of Taichung Escape Rooms' horror themes in my book. That conflicting feeling of being terrified yet wanting to keep exploring, and the rush of adrenaline, makes this a must-try for all self-proclaimed brave players.

What's it like when a Taichung Escape Rooms experience is no longer confined by physical walls? Our mystery shopper Shi Yang recently took on Escer's popular annual theme, "VR Reality: Sanctuary of Fear," and found it to be a completely new sensory adventure.

Upon entering the venue, Shi Yang's initial apprehension about a horror theme was quickly eased by the friendly and well-organized guidance of the staff. They repeatedly assured her that this theme focused on "atmosphere" rather than cheap jump scares, allowing players to concentrate more on the immersive VR experience. When it came time to put on the gear, the VR headset felt light and comfortable, with almost no weight or pressure on her face. The visuals were stunningly clear and three-dimensional.

The moment the game began, it felt as if her soul had been transported to another dimension. The eerie sanctuary, flickering lights, and unsettling ambient sounds created a psychological pressure that slowly seeped in, building a sense of dread from within. The controller in her hand became an extension of her limbs, allowing her to easily pick up clues and even interact simply with teammates. Each player had their own independent space, communicating in real-time through headset microphones, eliminating any worry about collisions.

The puzzles were well-designed, challenging enough without being overly complex, keeping the focus on the virtual-real boundary created by VR technology. As long as she followed the game's guidance and avoided sudden head or body movements, she experienced very little dizziness.

In summary, "Sanctuary of Fear" successfully uses VR to break spatial limitations, creating an atmosphere that traditional escape rooms struggle to achieve. As a seasoned horror film fanatic, Xiangxiang was eager to take on Taichung Escape Rooms' famous "Ouija Board" theme. Even before the game began, just hearing the rules—one in particular—sent shivers down Xiangxiang and her companions' spines. That chilling, subtly terrifying setup instantly ratcheted everyone's anticipation and fear to the highest level.

A major feature of this game is its customizable horror level. For the sake of their hearts, Xiangxiang and her group chose a moderate Level 2, leaving the maximum level of terror for true brave souls. Stepping into the room, the aged set design, dim yellow lighting, and a faint, almost imperceptible musty smell in the air created an eerie atmosphere. The initial relaxed mood abruptly ended when a certain mechanism was triggered, and the scene instantly shifted. Lights flickered, and eerie sounds emanated from the corners. The fear wasn't a cheap jump scare; it was a psychological oppression, as if something was lurking in the shadows, making every step terrifying.

This Taichung Escape Rooms theme's puzzles and mechanisms are cleverly integrated with the story, preventing players from being pulled out of the experience by getting stuck. Instead, they become even more deeply immersed in the tension of the unfolding plot.

Overall, "Ouija Board" successfully strikes an excellent balance between puzzle-solving and a terrifying atmosphere. It's highly recommended for players who not only seek a brain-teasing challenge but also enjoy being enveloped by a story and atmosphere, experiencing the thrill of a racing heart.

If you're looking for a Taichung Escape Room experience that will give your brain a complete workout, Myling recently tackled two very different themes at Funlock, enjoying distinct yet equally satisfying puzzle-solving fun.

First up was the high-difficulty "Eternal Tribulation." Stepping into the ancient, elegant alchemy room, a strong Eastern martial arts atmosphere immediately enveloped us. As the story progressed, our group transformed into assassins, moving through spaces with varying heights, interacting with meticulously crafted mechanisms and props. Each scene change brought gasps of surprise. Unfortunately, we ultimately fell short at the brain-teasing I Ching trigrams, leaving a hint of regret.

Next, we added the beginner-friendly "Song of Inari." The tense martial arts vibe instantly gave way to a warm, Japanese-style atmosphere. The air seemed to carry a faint scent of tatami, and we listened to the charming legend of fox weddings. The puzzle-solving process interspersed light mini-games with basic lock challenges, allowing Myling and her companions to successfully complete the room with laughter and a strong sense of accomplishment.

Funlock is known in the Taichung Escape Room scene for its high value and thoughtfully diverse settings. Playing two rooms back-to-back felt like a refreshing hot-and-cold mental shower. Myling specifically recommends that even though the official capacity is 6-8 people, a group of 3-4 for smaller themes offers the best enjoyment of the full space and the fun of discussing puzzles—an experience that is absolutely worth the price.

Stepping into Wanyou Yinli Creative Studio's "Cook Kingdom" is like entering a real-life game of Overcooked, filled with whimsical charm. This Taichung Escape Rooms theme announces itself as an extraordinary adventure from the moment you enter.

The scene unfolds in dreamy macaron colors, with giant kitchen props that make you feel instantly shrunken. "So cute!" exclamations from teammates fill the air. The space transforms frequently, offering new surprises around every corner. However, some areas are quite compact, so MissChi recommends a group of about four people for the most comfortable experience.

The puzzle design is closely integrated with culinary challenges, leaning towards intuitive observation and featuring many clever puns that elicit a smile. While there's a fair amount of reading, the frantic teamwork as teammates split up to solve puzzles and cooperate to clear the stages perfectly captures the essence of the game. The themed venue is tucked away in the depths of a board game shop; stepping through its doors feels like transitioning from a bustling street into a quiet study, with a subtle woody scent filling the air.

Xiangxiang particularly loved the immersive atmosphere of "Hebo." The puzzles unfurl like a scroll, one by one, with tightly interwoven clues that test communication and teamwork. The game isn't just a brain-teaser; it also incorporates tactile and auditory experiences. The moment you manually turn a mechanism and hear that crisp "click," revealing a hidden secret, the surprise of discovery is truly delightful.
