For this Taipei Tufting Workshops experience, Yen was lucky enough to have a one-on-one session with the instructor. Before starting the rug-making process, the instructor provided incredibly detailed guidance, explaining everything from controlling the tufting gun's speed to the yarn's density. For intricate pattern details, the instructor guided Yen hand-in-hand through each step.

Throughout the creation process, the instructor meticulously checked the rug, feeling the surface to ensure even yarn density and advising Yen where to add more tufts. The final product felt wonderfully substantial. For the trimming stage, the instructor allowed Yen to try it independently first, then stepped in for the final detailed adjustments.

As a beginner to handmade rugs, Yen was extremely satisfied with the finished piece. The pattern, chosen with the instructor's advice, was perfect in both its operational difficulty and visual outcome! A clear tote bag was also provided for easy transport home.

I recently tried a Taipei Tufting Workshop at COMODE, and the instructor was incredibly kind and patient, especially with beginners. You can ask any questions without feeling silly.

The student-to-teacher ratio was about 1:4, adjusted for the number of participants. The whole experience took about three hours, and you can take your finished piece home the same day. If anyone is slower or needs a little help, the instructor will even assist with finishing touches or filling in colors.

When I sent my design photo in advance, the instructor advised against overly complex patterns. There's an unlimited selection of yarn colors available, and if a color you want is taken, they'll quickly restock it. For those who are unsure, the instructor also offers professional color recommendations.

I was also pleasantly surprised that they provided donuts as a snack at the end, which perfectly replenished the energy spent on the DIY tufting! Besides solo sessions, the venue also offers a couples' option. I would definitely recommend this workshop to beginners or couples.

### OneonePaint 玩玩文創 About the Venue

Introduction

OneonePaint is located on Yanji Street in Taipei's East District, near Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall MRT Station. The venue is compact, clean, elegant, and a little playful, and it's one of the few pet-friendly Taipei Tufting Workshops. In addition to these DIY rug classes, OneonePaint also offers other art experiences like alcohol ink painting and gold wire relief.

There are nearly 100 yarn colors to choose from for your DIY rug. Beyond rugs, you can also discuss making mirrors, bags, or other items with the instructor beforehand, though these may incur an additional charge.

Throughout the rug-making process, instructors actively assist and highlight key points, providing ample auxiliary equipment to simplify the workflow. From the initial tracing to the final backing, the instructor helps every step of the way and manages the time to ensure completion within the class duration.

What impressed our mystery shopper Luciana most about the Taipei Tufting Workshops at OneonePaint was the sheer array of helpful equipment. From powerful Dyson vacuums to adjustable-temperature hot glue guns and tufting gun ceiling lanyards, every custom design detail made the process easier. The tufting guns themselves were also noticeably lighter than those at other venues, making them effortless for solo female crafters.

The overall environment was clean and bright. Instructors constantly tidied up excess yarn from projects and tabletops, ensuring the space never felt cluttered. They also provided real-time guidance on technical challenges, with a student-to-instructor ratio of around 5:1, meaning quick assistance was always at hand.

The instructors' professionalism was also commendable. Luciana's design that day had some tricky sections, and the instructor expertly helped with the intricate details. Both the equipment and the teaching staff make this an ideal spot for first-time tufting beginners.

### Dottie studio About the Venue

Introduction

Dottie Studio, formerly A+Do Studio, is conveniently located near Ningxia Night Market and Shuanglian Market. The studio is clean and bright, with two long tables that comfortably seat about 10 people, complemented by a vibrant wall of colorful yarn.

This Taipei Tufting Workshops venue hosts only one group of guests per day, so you never have to worry about being rushed if your project isn't finished on time. In addition to rug DIY, they also offer tufting for coasters, mirrors, decorative items, and small bags. Pricing is clearly laid out when you fill out the reservation questionnaire.

To ensure fair use of yarn for everyone, when you submit your design file for review with the instructor, there will be a color limit based on the size of your project. You also can't bring more than two colors to your seat at a time during your session.

Dottie Studio offers a wide array of items, from basic handmade rugs to mirrors, bags, vases, and tissue boxes, showcasing the full potential of Tufting. It's truly one of the most versatile Taipei Tufting Workshops.

Rubbie and a friend tried a mini-bag Tufting class. During the session, a projector connected directly to their phones, allowing them to trace images from their devices onto the canvas with a marker, which was incredibly convenient.

The instructor provided a very detailed explanation of how to use the tufting gun, ensuring everyone understood the operations and safety measures up close. They also allowed participants to practice tufting at various angles.

Typically, one instructor is paired with three to four assistants for each class. When a color is completed, an instructor or assistant checks for any areas that need touching up.

Rubbie completed the Tufting part herself, but the assistants helped with the subsequent gluing, trimming, and assembly of the mini-bag. They also took photos and provided a carrying bag for the finished piece.
