Story:

The Six Hidden Gods is the most secretive intelligence agency of the Tokugawa Shogunate, specializing in investigating supernatural incidents that occurred over 200 years in Edo.

The Twilight Shrine, led by "Sea Hare," is the backbone of the Six Hidden Gods. Under the "monotheistic" divine power of Edo, the Twilight Shrine must build momentum for the Emperor and win over the people.

Every three years, Sea Hare issues a test, and the chosen shrine maidens must undergo a trial. Over the years, very few have passed the trial…

In Edo 251, the Six Hidden Gods ushered in their triennial trial. It is said that this trial is unlike any before. Sea Hare had already set up a barrier in the shrine a day earlier, awaiting the six shrine maidens for this trial.

Story:

The once picturesque Lingchang Village has been plagued by a terrifying legend: an elderly resident, said to have been possessed by a cat spirit, rose from the dead and became the "Maolian Laotai" (Cat-Faced Old Woman) that children now fear. Since then, villagers have gone missing and a series of deaths has occurred, with even the village chief's attempts to exorcise the evil proving futile.

Do you remember seeing the terrifying Maolian Laotai when you were a child? She might appear by your bedside, in the graveyard, or in the woods. Those who see her are cursed with misfortune, falling ill with fevers or lapsing into unconsciousness. Perhaps the disappearance of your own family members is connected to her.

Now, for various reasons, you and your companions have returned to your hometown. But is this a journey home, or a path to the underworld? On your very first day back, someone dies mysteriously.
