#Beyond Strawberry Picking: A Hidden Dessert Gem

REVIEWED BY [Tia](https://www.twosevenths.com/en/tag/tia/)

Zhongzhuang Farm feels less like a typical strawberry farm and more like a hidden strawberry dessert haven, at least to our mystery shopper Tia.

Afternoon sunlight streams into the clean, brightly lit elevated growing area. Even on a busy weekend, the wide aisles and tidy environment make for a relaxed picking experience, with no worries about muddying your clothes. However, Tia advises calling ahead to check on fruit availability, especially on weekend afternoons, to avoid a wasted trip.

The main event after picking is sampling the venue's array of strawberry treats. The air is filled with a sweet, fruity aroma, and just gazing at the cakes adorned with vibrant red strawberries in the display case is enough to make your mouth water. Tia tried the strawberry milkshake, which offered a delightful blend of plump fruit and smooth milkiness, a truly authentic and blissful taste. The strawberry cake, with its moist texture and rich fragrance, left a lasting impression. She had hoped to try the legendary strawberry daifuku, but it was already sold out, a testament to its popularity.

This venue is not only a paradise for strawberry lovers; it also offers cucumber picking during the off-season, making Zhongzhuang Farm a pleasant, year-round option for families.

#Greenhouse Strawberry Picking: Fun in Any Weather

REVIEWED BY [喵仙女](https://www.twosevenths.com/en/tag/%E5%96%B5%E4%BB%99%E5%A5%B3/)

Our Strawberry Picking in Taoyuan experience began with a warm welcome from the friendly owner, who cycled over to greet us even before we stepped into the greenhouse. It felt like a scene from a charming country lane.

The air was filled with a subtle, sweet fragrance. We learned that the strawberries here are grown without pesticides, carefully nourished with fermented brown sugar liquid. This dedication not only ensures safe eating but also gives the fruit a uniquely delicate sweetness. Inside the greenhouse, elevated strawberry beds are neatly arranged, making picking easy and comfortable without needing to bend down.

The most delightful surprise was finding Japanese white strawberries, dotted with red seeds like pearls, alongside the more common, plump Taiwanese red varieties. Armed with the venue's thoughtfully provided round-tipped safety scissors, I carefully snipped each perfect berry, a process that was both therapeutic and fun.

Bajiao Elevated Strawberry may not be large, but every detail shines. From the owner's enthusiastic welcome and commitment to organic farming to her genuine warmth towards every visitor, you can feel her deep affection for this special place. This was a wonderful experience, rich in both human connection and the sweet scent of fruit.

The farm is nestled amidst open, tranquil fields. Its greenhouse and elevated cultivation design ensures wide, flat pathways, making it stroller-friendly, and the greenhouse environment helps prevent muddiness even on rainy days.

This Strawberry Picking in Taoyuan venue emphasizes friendly and safe cultivation practices. While not organically certified, it aims for non-toxic farming, allowing visitors to pick and eat berries fresh with peace of mind. The primary strawberry variety is the fragrant "Perfume" strawberry, complemented by the "Benihoppe" variety, known for its higher sweetness and rich flavor. #Strawberry Picking in Taoyuan: Pick strawberries and take home a bouquet of sunflowers

REVIEWED BY [喵仙女](https://www.twosevenths.com/en/tag/%E5%96%B5%E4%BB%99%E5%A5%B3/)

EXPERIENCED · 2026.02.28

Laige Happy Farm in Xinwu, Taoyuan, immediately feels like a true countryside escape. Unlike the strawberry farms in Dahu or around urban areas, this is one of the few located along Taoyuan's coastal route. As you drive down the narrow roads winding through rice paddies, the view opens up, and the air carries the moist scent of the fields.

The venue doesn't have a dedicated parking lot, but you can usually find roadside parking in white-lined areas, as long as it doesn't obstruct traffic. Stepping out of the car, you'll see two large greenhouses with elevated cultivation, featuring a two-tiered planting system where strawberry racks are neatly arranged, one above the other. Inside the greenhouse, the aisles are spacious, and each row clearly labels the strawberry variety, so you'll always know what you're picking.

On the day of our visit, the main variety was the "Perfume" strawberry. The elevated planting definitely saves you from bending over, making picking much easier than at traditional ground-level strawberry farms. The fertilizer scent in the environment was a bit noticeable, which might be a factor for those sensitive to smells, but overall, it was within an acceptable range.

Beyond just picking fruit, this Taoyuan strawberry venue also offers a rich variety of DIY activities. On the day we visited, sessions were booked from morning until afternoon, allowing visitors to make strawberry nougat crackers, candied strawberries on a stick, and strawberry mochi. Each session has limited capacity, and the atmosphere leans towards family-friendly fun. Children can enjoy making mochi or stringing candied strawberries themselves, and they can take their creations home, which adds a great sense of participation for families.

Interestingly, the owner's primary business is rice farming. Next to the strawberry farm are vast agricultural fields, where sunflowers were in full bloom during our visit, preparing to make way for the next round of rice planting. To ensure these beautiful sunflowers weren't wasted, the venue specially opened up a sunflower picking experience. After picking strawberries and doing DIY, you can even take home a bouquet of sunflowers, creating a lovely scene that evokes rural life.

Overall, Laige Happy Farm leaves an impression of a simple, down-to-earth, pastoral strawberry venue. While it lacks fancy packaging, the elevated cultivation makes picking easier, and the addition of DIY activities and seasonal flower field experiences adds variety to the itinerary.

#A cozy, family-friendly farm secret for year-round fruit picking

REVIEWED BY [喵仙女](https://www.twosevenths.com/en/tag/%E5%96%B5%E4%BB%99%E5%A5%B3/)

The moment I arrived at 323 Greenhouse Farm, still looking for parking, the friendly owner emerged from the greenhouse. With a warm smile, she enthusiastically guided me to the last available spot, instantly setting a lovely tone for this farm visit.

Stepping inside the greenhouse, a wave of warmth enveloped me, carrying the fresh scents of earth and plants. Sunlight filtered softly through the white roof, illuminating rows of neatly arranged plants. The most delightful surprise here is that it's not just a strawberry farm; it's like a mini United Nations of fruits and vegetables. Tomatoes, pumpkins, figs, and papayas each have their own section, offering the joy of fruit picking all year round. While the farm does have restrooms, they are quite rustic, so those who prefer pristine facilities might want to consider this.

The owner meticulously explained each crop and its price, frankly telling me that because the long holiday had just ended, most of the strawberries had already been picked. However, the cherry tomatoes in sections D and E were perfectly in season, plump and red. This honesty made the experience even better. Plucking each vibrant red tomato from the vine, feeling its warm, firm texture, offered a grounding connection to the land—a therapeutic sensation rarely found in the city.

This venue offers the most genuine human touch and abundant crops, making it ideal for families looking to connect with nature and experience the simple joy of picking their own produce. A friendly reminder: if your heart is set on juicy red strawberries, be sure to call the day before your visit to check on the fruit's availability, so you don't make a trip in vain!

### J&W 多肉過嶺草莓瓜果農園 About the Venue

Introduction

J&W Succulent Strawberry Farm, located in Zhongli, Taoyuan, is a greenhouse strawberry venue that has gained increasing attention in the Guoling area in recent years. The owner, who previously managed a succulent plant business at Taipei's Jianguo Flower Market for many years, ventured into Strawberry Picking in Taoyuan at the end of 2024. They combined their experience in succulent cultivation with fruit and vegetable farming to create a unique, diversified venue.

The venue is about a 15-minute drive from Taoyuan HSR Station. Although it's located down an alley, the entrance sign is clear, and you can reach it by following a small country road. The surrounding area is farmland, with roadside parking available, and the overall layout is straightforward.

This Strawberry Picking in Taoyuan venue features a greenhouse spanning approximately 600 ping, utilizing an elevated cultivation method for nearly 20,000 strawberry plants. The strawberry varieties include Xiangshui (perfume) strawberries, Fengxiang strawberries, and the less common white strawberries.

In addition to the strawberry area, the venue also has a succulent plant display and sales section, offering about 300 varieties. After picking fruit, visitors can browse and purchase potted plants, adding to the enjoyment of their visit. In the summer, the farm switches to cultivating small watermelons or cantaloupes, extending its fruit and vegetable season.

There is no entrance fee; fruit picking is charged by weight, with prices fluctuating based on the season and yield. Strawberry gift boxes and succulent plants are also available for purchase on-site, with no minimum consumption requirement. Transactions are cash-only.

#Taste many strawberry varieties, then pick your favorites

REVIEWED BY [喵仙女](https://www.twosevenths.com/en/tag/%E5%96%B5%E4%BB%99%E5%A5%B3/)

EXPERIENCED · 2026.02.28

J&W Succulent Strawberry Farm in Zhongli makes a big first impression with its expansive greenhouse. Inside, rows of elevated strawberry beds stretch out, nearly twenty by our count, each clearly labeled with the strawberry variety. This makes for a clear path and no guesswork while picking.

The venue uses a two-tier elevated planting system, with beds positioned slightly higher than typical elevated strawberry farms. This means you barely need to bend over; you can stand comfortably and pick ripe fruit, making for a very relaxed experience that's ideal for seniors or anyone who prefers not to stoop.

The variety selection is a major highlight of this Taoyuan strawberry venue. Beyond common types, you'll find neatly arranged rows of Toyo Red, Emperor Red, Jinxiang, Meiji, Tenrai No. 3, and many other strawberries. A thoughtful tasting station at the entrance lets you compare the sweetness and aroma of different varieties before deciding which row to focus on. This design adds direction to the picking process and helps avoid picking too many strawberries that aren't to your taste.

The greenhouse is brightly lit and spacious, with well-organized aisles that prevent any feeling of crowding. A large rest area allows you to sit down and enjoy your freshly picked strawberries right away, complete with complimentary tea. The overall atmosphere leans towards a leisurely farm experience, not a rushed picking session.

The venue also sells succulents, a nod to the owner's original expertise. You'll also find beautifully packaged gift boxes of Japanese red and white strawberries, though these are for sale and not available for picking.

Overall, J&W Succulent Strawberry Farm offers a well-planned, diverse, and comfortable experience. From the elevated beds and tasting options to the spacious rest areas, everything makes Strawberry Picking in Taoyuan a relaxed affair. If you're looking for a strawberry venue where you don't need to bend over and can take your time choosing varieties, this is a weekend option worth considering.

#Fresh strawberries and a variety of products to take home

REVIEWED BY [喵仙女](https://www.twosevenths.com/en/tag/%E5%96%B5%E4%BB%99%E5%A5%B3/)

EXPERIENCED · 2026.02.01

Visiting Herbal Honest Food Danshen-Strawberry Research Institute isn't just about Strawberry Picking in Taoyuan; it's more like an educational, hands-on tour of sustainable agriculture. The owner personally guides you into the venue, explaining the rules and precautions for picking, even demonstrating right in the orchard. This interactive approach feels much more welcoming and reassuring than venues that rely solely on written notices.

The strawberries are grown in greenhouses, so you don't have to worry about rain, and the ground is covered with rice husks to prevent mud, keeping the environment clean. The planting design is unique, combining elevated and ground-level cultivation. Each greenhouse has four rows of strawberries, with celery, cabbage, and other crops rotated on the sides, making full use of the space. The available varieties change daily, but there are always at least two types, allowing you to sample different flavors.

Beyond picking, another major highlight of this venue is its range of self-developed strawberry products: strawberry popcorn, strawberry sparkling wine, strawberry ramen, and more. All feature stylish brand packaging, making you feel like you're not just "grabbing something on the way out," but rather "this is a complete, concept-driven strawberry brand." There's also a simple rest area inside, perfect for a break when you're tired.

This Taoyuan strawberry farm offers smooth flow, a clean environment, and a strong brand identity. With LINE Pay support at checkout, it's very family-friendly and appealing to younger visitors—a truly impressive strawberry farm that blends education with aesthetic appeal.
