## Ha SAKE Brand Introduction

Ha SAKE Brand Introduction

In the city's fast pace, we're always searching for that "just right" spot: gentle lighting, a relaxed atmosphere, a place where we can unwind with our furry friends. We want good drinks and delicious food, without feeling too formal, and where even sake newcomers feel at ease.

Ha SAKE, a sake bar tucked away on a corner of Guangfu South Road, might not be a trending spot on your map, but it's a hidden gem for many urbanites. From the owner's sake recommendations to the perfectly paired snacks and the soulful gaze of "Manager Xuebao," this venue offers a taste of sake culture that feels intimately woven into daily life, even though it's not in Japan.

### ✦Chat about your preferences × Professional sake sommelier recommendations

Many first-time visitors to a Taipei Sake Bar worry about facing a vast menu with no idea how to choose. Ha SAKE breaks down that barrier, making sake selection much less intimidating. Just chat with the sommelier for a few minutes, and they'll recommend the perfect sake based on your dietary habits, what you plan to eat that day, or even your current mood.

The owner of this Taipei Sake Bar is a certified SSI sake sommelier, a true professional with extensive tasting experience. When introducing each sake, they don't pressure you; instead, they tell stories in everyday language, making it easy to understand the culture, brewing methods, and regional characteristics behind each sake.

### ✦40+ Curated Sakes: Perfect for Both Newcomers and Connoisseurs

If you think the only difference in sake is "hot or cold," this Daan District Taipei Sake Bar will open your eyes. The venue regularly stocks over 40 carefully selected sakes, with seasonal limited editions. You'll find everything from fresh namazake and sparkling sake to aged junmai daiginjo, sourced from various breweries across Japan and showcasing diverse brewing methods.

Even if you're completely new to sake, you can confidently start with entry-level options, while seasoned connoisseurs will discover rare and limited editions not easily found elsewhere, ensuring a fresh experience with every visit. Ha SAKE's sake list isn't just extensive; it's an invitation to explore. Whether you prefer light and crisp or rich and full-bodied, fruity or rice-forward, the sake sommelier will expertly guide you through the world of sake based on your preferences.

### ✦A bistro that welcomes pets and delivery orders

Ha SAKE may be small, but every detail is thoughtfully designed. A full glass exterior wall floods the space with natural light during the day, while warm, indirect lighting creates a cozy, gentle ambiance at night. The biggest surprise is that this is one of the few truly pet-friendly Taipei Sake Bars — not just "pets allowed," but a place where you and your furry companion will genuinely be treated as equals.

Another fantastic policy is their BYO food option: you're welcome to bring your own meals or order delivery. The owner will even recommend the perfect sake pairing for whatever you bring, elevating your "takeout and drinks" experience with quality and delightful surprises. This venue completely overturns the traditional image of Taipei Sake Bars, transforming it into a place where you can chat, unwind, or gather with friends.

## Ha SAKE Services

Ha SAKE Services

Ha SAKE's service design is incredibly thoughtful, especially for those new to sake. Everything from the pricing to the drink pairings is designed to be approachable. Each glass of sake comes with a small side dish, not just to line your stomach, but to let you experience the delightful flavor transformations that happen when sake is paired with food. Rather than an intimidating tasting culture, the atmosphere here feels more like a leisurely culinary conversation.

Whether you prefer to choose a single glass, embark on a three-glass tasting journey, or dive deeper into Japanese sake culture with a special event, Ha SAKE offers experience packages tailored to different needs. The transparent pricing and simple consumption model mean you never have to worry about ordering incorrectly or feeling pressured, ensuring a happy and relaxed drinking experience.

### ✦1+1 Sake & Appetizer Combo

Ha SAKE offers a unique "1+1" pairing experience: for every glass of sake you order, the venue provides a specially curated small dish to accompany it. These aren't just a few peanuts or edamame; each pairing is thoughtfully designed to complement the sake's flavor profile. For instance, you might find pickled appetizers paired with sparkling sake, or warm miso tofu served alongside a sweet, rice-forward Junmai Ginjo. Every combination creates an intriguing interplay of flavors, deepening your understanding of sake's nuances and making each sip a delightful surprise.

The pricing is also approachable and transparent: each 1-sake + 1-dish set is NT$400, or three sets for NT$1000 (plus a 10% service charge). The owner will explain the characteristics of each sake and the rationale behind its pairing, creating a warm, intimate mini-sake gathering. There's no pressure; instead, you'll naturally slow down and savor the simple pleasure of "one sake, one small dish." This approach is perfect if you want to enjoy just the right amount of sake and food without overindulging.

### ✦Three-Glass Set: A Sake Flavor Journey

If you're in the mood to try a little bit of everything tonight, Ha SAKE's three-cup set is an excellent choice. More than just a tasting, it's a complete three-stage journey through sake flavors, ensuring you enjoy a satisfying experience without overindulging. This option is perfect for those looking to explore different sake styles while relaxing and chatting over a pleasant buzz. Priced at $400 +10%, the quality and content more than justify the cost. You'll definitely leave with a desire to try another combination next time.

### ✦Regular Tasting Events × Meet the Sake Brewers

The regular tasting events are a highlight of this Daan District Taipei Sake Bar, offering a deeply cultural and interactive experience. If you're not just a fan of drinking sake but want to truly understand its background, brewing artistry, and the soul behind each bottle, these events are absolutely worth booking. Ha SAKE regularly invites sake artisans from across Japan, sometimes even brewery presidents themselves, to share their representative works, brand history, brewing philosophy, and regional characteristics face-to-face.

These events feature a diverse selection of sake styles. Through guided tastings and explanations, you'll gain a deeper appreciation for sake's flavor nuances and cultural context. It's more than just drinking; it's a cultural journey that engages both your intellect and your senses. We highly recommend these events for anyone looking to evolve from simply "liking sake" to "truly appreciating it."

## Ha SAKE Experience Review

Ha SAKE Experience Review

My first visit to Ha SAKE, a Taipei Sake Bar, was meant to be a quick drink, but it turned into a complete and rich culinary journey. From the ambiance and the sake sommelier's introductions to the pairings of sake and cuisine, and the overall service, every detail revealed that this is more than just a bar—it's a thoughtfully crafted lifestyle space. There's no sense of intimidation or pressure if you're new to sake; instead, you're invited to experience, learn, and enjoy at your own pace. Here are three highlights from my visit to Ha SAKE, the experiences Bryan most wants to recommend to his friends:

### ✦Just one drink, one dish — perfectly portioned

After chatting with the owner, Bryan's first recommendation was a limited-edition spring sake: FOUR SEASONS Spring Edition. This lightly cloudy sake is said to be inspired by the first rays of spring dawn reflecting off the lingering snow on Mount Chokai. The description alone was poetic, and the taste did not disappoint. This sake offers delicate berry notes, a soft, hazy body, and a subtle carbonation, making the first sip as fresh and invigorating as morning air.

The accompanying fish roe salad, with its subtle savory notes, perfectly balanced the sake's sweet and sour profile, creating a refreshing yet profound overall experience. The owner mentioned that this sake also pairs exceptionally well with seafood, enhancing its lightness and crisp finish for a clearer, more spring-like dining experience. After that one glass, I truly felt a sense of "today was a good day" satisfaction.

This Junmai Ginjo sake from Shiga Prefecture's Fujimoto Shuzo offers a distinct fruity aroma and a sweet, lively acidity on the palate, complemented by subtle herbal notes. The overall profile is fresh yet layered, making it an ideal aperitif — a crisp and enticing prelude to a three-glass journey.

Next up is a sake from Fukushima's Matsuzaki Brewery, crafted with local Yumenoka rice polished to 55%. This sake is clean and balanced, filling the mouth with delicate sweetness and layers of umami, embodying a gentle quality that makes you want to keep sipping. It's a pure, elegant, and unadorned classic, the most balanced and serene of the three.

Finally, we have a low-alcohol (around 8%) junmai sake from Okayama's Kamikokoro Brewery, characterized by its rich fruitiness, sweet and fresh flavor, and a crisp, white wine-like quality. Its aroma is a sweet-tart blend of almond and stone fruits like apricot and plum, tasting like a delightful sparkling grape soda. Of the three, this was the softest and most innovative, completely overturning any preconceived notions of sake as a traditional drink. The owner mentioned that this particular sake gained popularity after being featured on "Muyao 4"!

### ✦Your furry friend at your feet, a drink in your hand.

The owner's love for dogs makes Ha SAKE a truly pet-friendly space — and the owner's dog is absolutely adorable. When we first arrived, it was quietly observing every customer from its spot by the bar, with a charmingly innocent yet intelligent gaze. The owner later introduced it as the venue's "manager," explaining that it comes to work almost every day.

While she won't come begging for pets, her calm, therapeutic presence truly softens the entire space. For Bryan, who loves dogs but doesn't own a pet, it's a rare treat to enjoy a drink in a quiet, comfortable venue that's welcoming to both people and animals. However, those sensitive to cats or dogs should be aware: the venue's manager, "Snowball," is almost always on duty!

### ✦The sommelier won't push sales; they're there to help you find the perfect drink.

Some high-end Taipei Sake Bars can feel intimidating, especially if you're new to sake and worry about ordering incorrectly or not understanding the staff. Ha SAKE is the complete opposite: the sake sommeliers chat with you like friends, focused not on "selling sake," but on "helping you discover what you'll love."

Bryan initially admitted he usually drinks wine and wasn't very familiar with sake. The owner, smiling, responded, "Then let's start with the fruity notes you already know!" He then recommended several sakes that shared a white wine-like profile but offered the deeper complexity of rice. That feeling of being understood was wonderful, and it gave Bryan a whole new appreciation for sake. He realized it's not just for pairing with sushi, but a beverage to be savored, adjusted to suit one's mood. Professional yet approachable, with stories but never aloof—that's the greatest charm of this Taipei Sake Bars venue in Daan District.
