### 潛雪 SnowDiving About the Venue

Introduction

SnowDiving offers private, custom Tokyo Ski Lessons at Myoko Kogen in Niigata, designed for serious learners seeking a more focused experience than traditional large Japanese ski tours. This venue specializes in ski instruction itself, allowing students to arrange their own travel and itinerary for highly flexible learning.

The main teaching base is Myoko Kogen in Niigata Prefecture, covering resorts like Akakura Onsen, Akakura Kanko, Ikenotaira, and Suginohara. This area features diverse slopes and relatively fewer crowds, providing an undisturbed learning environment suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced skiers.

#SmallClassesAreComfortableAndReassuring

REVIEWED BY [辣辣](https://www.twosevenths.com/en/tag/%E8%BE%A3%E8%BE%A3/)

EXPERIENCED · 2025.12.26

This was my second time going on Tokyo Ski Lessons with SnowDiving. While the journey from Tokyo to Nagano and then Myoko takes about 3-4 hours, the environment in Myoko is far more comfortable and spacious compared to the crowded ski resorts near Tokyo. It’s perfect for beginners to practice without feeling overwhelmed by too many people, which is one reason I chose SnowDiving again.

What I love most about SnowDiving’s Tokyo Ski Lessons is their small class sizes. One instructor teaches a maximum of three to four students, ensuring plenty of personalized guidance and immediate feedback. The instructors are gentle and meticulous; they observe each person's movements first, then break down and guide them step-by-step, making it easier for students to understand. This teaching approach helped me improve quickly, from being a novice to mastering turns and balance. Each breakthrough brought a strong sense of accomplishment.

Equipment rental is also very convenient. There’s an equipment shop right at the entrance to the ski resort, run by a friendly and enthusiastic couple who sometimes even offer discounts. You can rent gear like snowboards and helmets on the spot. After the lessons, you can also visit the nearby hot spring town for a soak and some delicious food, making for a more complete experience.

For me, skiing is as addictive as racing, offering both speed and the thrill of a challenge. More importantly, the joy and satisfaction of gradually overcoming fear and smoothly gliding down the slopes are truly indescribable. These Tokyo Ski Lessons were more than just exercise; they were a complete physical and mental reset.

#Small-Group Lessons + Fine Powder Snow for Confident First Steps

REVIEWED BY [Veena](https://www.twosevenths.com/en/tag/Veena/)

EXPERIENCED · 2026.01.26

For many travelers dreaming of skiing, GOSO Ski School's Tokyo Ski Lessons are a reassuring choice to open the door to the white world. Veena felt the instructor's meticulous care and professionalism through online communication even before the trip, and that sense of calm before departure is exactly what beginners need most.

A Shinkansen ride from Tokyo takes about an hour to reach Echigo-Yuzawa, where the scenery outside the window quickly shifts from cityscapes to a silver-white expanse. Stepping onto Iwahara Ski Resort, you're greeted by the famous, incredibly wide slopes, flat like an endless white carpet, almost stretching out of sight. This immediately puts a beginner's mind at ease. The air is crisp and fresh, and the expansive views lift your spirits.

These Tokyo Ski Lessons feature small-group instruction, allowing the instructor to constantly observe each person's progress and posture, adjusting the teaching pace as needed. Under the instructor's careful guidance, initial nervousness gradually transformed into confidence on the board. The snowboard glided over fresh snow with a soft swishing sound; beneath the feet was fine, soft powder snow, with almost no icy bumps, making every glide stable and solid.

For Veena, GOSO's one-day ski lessons felt like a journey of building confidence. The friendly environment of Iwahara Ski Resort, combined with the patient companionship of the GOSO instructor, made skiing no longer an unattainable challenge, but a fulfilling winter experience to share with friends.

#One-stop service: a five-minute walk from the station to the slopes

REVIEWED BY [KY](https://www.twosevenths.com/en/tag/KY/)

EXPERIENCED · 2026.02.05

For first-time skiers, language barriers are often the biggest challenge. CHENDA RENTAL's one-stop Chinese service, from booking and transfers to instructor matching, undoubtedly brings a strong sense of security to the Tokyo Ski Lessons experience.

While the equipment in the venue isn't the latest model, it's well-maintained, with rows of neatly arranged snowboards and boots awaiting selection. The changing rooms are a bit cramped when putting on ski suits and pants, which is a minor drawback, but the fluent Chinese communication makes the entire process exceptionally smooth.

Instructor K, matched by the venue, taught with clear, steady pacing. In the crisp Yuzawa air, KY followed the instructor's commands, from single-foot gliding and weight transfer to basic braking, gradually feeling the snowboard respond underfoot. Before them lay the almost luxuriously wide slopes of Iwa-ppara Ski Resort, especially the beginner practice area, where gentle slopes and magic carpet lifts greatly reduced the fear of learning. Even if you fell, there was no need to worry about collisions.

Yuzawa's abundant natural powder snow made a soft "shushing" sound when stepped on, and the loose, thick feel underfoot provided the gentlest cushion for practicing turns. Although it was only a one-day lesson, it was difficult to fully master the fluidity of S-turns, but it was enough to experience the unique charm of gliding through a silver-white world.

In summary, this Tokyo Ski Lessons venue may have limited physical space, but its seamless all-Chinese communication environment, combined with the extremely beginner-friendly ski conditions in the Yuzawa area, makes it a highly worthwhile experience for ski novices seeking efficiency and a sense of security.

#Expert Chinese-Speaking Instructors Will Help You Fall in Love with Skiing from Scratch

REVIEWED BY [莞莞](https://www.twosevenths.com/en/tag/%E8%8E%9E%E8%8E%9E/)

EXPERIENCED · 2026.01.24

A good ski trip hinges on the instructor, and this time, under the guidance of Snow Planet Ski School, Wanwan truly experienced the magical transformation from fearing skiing to loving it.

During the 6-hour snowboarding lesson, from the click of the boots snapping into place, the instructor's warm encouragement immediately eased Wanwan's initial nervousness and apprehension about stepping onto a snowboard for the first time. The lesson wasn't just one-way instruction; it focused on breaking down the details of each movement. Whenever Wanwan lost balance or her posture faltered, the instructor precisely identified the problem and guided her adjustments in a clear, easy-to-understand manner. The feeling of accomplishment, from constantly falling to finally being able to smoothly execute frontside and backside falling leaf turns, was immense, and the instructor's accompanying DSLR camera perfectly captured that precious moment.

The lesson took place at Iwahara Ski Resort, where the scenery provided the perfect backdrop. The slopes were wide enough to accommodate all beginner mistakes, and the soft snow made every fall gentle. Looking out, the pure white gentle slopes were dotted with skiers, with continuous mountain ranges in the distance, and the air was cool and fresh. At lunchtime, a steaming bowl of curry rice at the mountainside restaurant spread warmth from the stomach throughout the body—the best energy boost in the snow.

Echigo-Yuzawa is only about a 90-minute Shinkansen ride from Tokyo, making a one-day Tokyo Ski Lessons experience entirely possible. Snow Planet's professional instruction and Iwahara's beginner-friendly environment make this day trip ideal for first-timers who want to incorporate a ski experience into their travels and desire high-quality teaching with a sense of security. This experience not only helped Wanwan overcome her fear of speed but also truly made her fall in love with the freedom of gliding on the snow.

## Ski Addicts 滑雪中毒者

PLATE 06–03

### 滑雪中毒者 About the Venue

Introduction

Ski Addicts, a specialist in Japan ski trips, offers flexible Tokyo Ski Lessons and package tours online, covering popular resorts like Karuizawa and Naeba. Travelers can browse options on the official website, submit inquiries via an online form, and then receive a formal quote and full details from a dedicated representative via email.

Their tour packages are highly flexible, allowing travelers to customize their trip based on budget and needs. Customizable items include:
*   Trip duration
*   Flight selection
*   Accommodation level
*   Airport-to-resort transfers
*   Equipment rental
*   Travel insurance

A variety of ski resort locations are available, including Naeba, which is ideal for beginners, and Shizukuishi in Tohoku, known for its powder snow.

For skiers of different skill levels, the tour packages offer optional add-on ski instructor courses, available as either group or private lessons. Group lessons span two days, with two hours each in the morning and afternoon, and class sizes of approximately 6 to 8 students. Private lessons are priced based on the actual number of participants and hours, though booking slots are more limited during peak season.

The cost of these ski lessons includes three essential items: skis, boots, and a helmet. However, personal items such as ski apparel and protective gear are not included, and travelers must either bring their own or rent them separately for an additional fee.

### 滑雪中毒者 Mystery Shopper's Take

Review

#Effortless One-Stop Planning for First-Time Skiers

REVIEWED BY [Calista](https://www.twosevenths.com/en/tag/Calista/)

EXPERIENCED · 2026.02.24

For those new to the slopes, fear often outweighs excitement, but Calista's Tokyo Ski Lessons with Ski Addicts completely changed that perception. The group instructor, with a humorous approach, meticulously broke down body weight transfer and constantly emphasized "how to fall safely." This replaced the fear of falling with an unexpected sense of security. The instructor observed each student's progress, offering timely adjustments and warm encouragement, allowing everyone to gradually find their rhythm with the snowboard through repeated practice.

The Naeba Ski Resort environment felt tailor-made for beginners. An endless expanse of silver-white stretched before her eyes, with wide, gentle slopes and snow as soft as cotton candy—even if she lost her balance and fell, her body felt gently cushioned. What truly amazed Calista was the superb ski-in/ski-out convenience of the Naeba Prince Hotel. After lessons, she could ski directly back to the hotel entrance, saving her from the exhaustion of lugging heavy gear around.

After shedding her equipment, soaking her sore muscles in the hotel's hot spring, feeling the steam melt away all fatigue, was the most therapeutic moment of the ski trip. Ski Addicts' one-stop arrangement, from transportation and accommodation to lessons, allowed beginners to focus all their energy on skiing itself. From initial wobbles to smoothly gliding down the slope, Calista felt this journey not only taught her a new skill but also helped her rediscover the courage to challenge the unknown in a safe environment.
