Shihyang brought a group of friends to experience Sun Moon Lake SUP, and the coach was already waiting at the pier when they arrived. They quickly signed public liability insurance waivers, secured valuables, and put on life vests.

After changing, the group took their paddles to the lake, where the coach gave clear, step-by-step instructions on how to use the paddles and perform basic maneuvers. Then, each person got a board, secured their leash, and happily entered the water!

They started by paddling in the safest sitting position, enjoying the beautiful scenery and cool breeze—it was incredibly relaxing and comfortable! Next, they challenged themselves to paddle standing up. There was no need to worry about falling in, as the coach constantly monitored their safety and helped everyone get back on their boards.

Finally, the coach led them in a group activity: board running. It was thrilling and fun, with screams and laughter echoing across the lake. If you want to have a wild time on the water with friends, this is the Sun Moon Lake SUP venue to choose!

Ronin Paddle Hall is a veteran venue for Sun Moon Lake SUP experiences.

This time, Yurong and her husband brought their dog for a morning session. Two coaches accompanied them throughout: one took photos with a phone, and the other captured drone footage, getting many precious family interaction shots. If you're camera-shy, don't worry—the coaches will guide you on how to pose!

Midway through the Sun Moon Lake SUP session, the coaches even brought out snacks in a container. Chatting and eating on the lake was a wonderful experience, and we really appreciated the venue's thoughtful service.

During our chat, we learned that if you book a sunset session, you'll take a different route because the boats haven't launched yet, allowing you to see three different landscapes in one trip. Yurong wants to try that next time.

This venue offers a low instructor-to-student ratio for these experiences, with tours available for just two people. There's no extra charge to bring your furry friend on board, making it perfect for those who want to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Sun Moon Lake with their pets.

Introduction

Fuyu's Sun Moon Lake SUP meeting point is at the Sun Moon Lake Crescent Bay parking lot; you'll need to drive yourself there. The launch point is right next to it, but there are no changing rooms, so it's best to arrive already in your swimwear.

These sessions are offered in four time slots: sunrise, morning, afternoon, and sunset, each accompanied by a professional instructor.

The sunset session requires arrival by 3 PM, with the entire activity lasting about two hours. Before getting in the water, there's a brief explanation of paddle grip and steering, followed by segmented practice before participants are allowed free movement in a safe water area.

Before the activity began, we were informed there would be three photo spots. Upon reaching these designated locations, a DSLR camera and drone were used to capture many precious dynamic moments of the Sun Moon Lake SUP experience.

Fuyu's instructors are humorous, engaging, and highly professional, making it easy to pick up the basics quickly. Even if you're a beginner who can't swim, there's no need to worry about trying Sun Moon Lake SUP. Besides wearing a life vest, the instructors are always nearby to assist you or let you rest on the board when needed.

Falling into the water is also no concern; the instructors will immediately help you. They provide advance instructions on current wind direction, safe water routes, and occasional waves caused by passing boats.

Chatting with the instructor, we discovered they're quite the foodies, sharing many local culinary gems. They even offered some eye-catching desserts during the experience. The relaxed atmosphere made the two-hour session fly by.

For this Sun Moon Lake SUP Kay experience, we specifically chose the sunset slot. The lake surface was like a mirror, reflecting the stunning sunset in a truly mesmerizing scene. Introduction

Sun Moon Lake SUP is conveniently located near Shuishe Pier and partners with many nearby hotels; you can inquire at the front desk about booking a session during your stay. There are four time slots available: sunrise, morning, afternoon, and sunset, with a minimum of two participants required for each group.

The venue provides shuttle service, with coaches transporting participants in a van to the changing area. Upon arrival, you can secure valuables in the lockers provided by the venue, and you'll receive a waterproof phone pouch and a life vest. Restrooms are available nearby.

Since we participated in the sunrise session, it was still dark when we arrived, requiring us to walk to the launch pier in the dark, with the coach illuminating the path with a flashlight.

Finally, after the coach explained paddling techniques and safety precautions on the pier's boardwalk, we entered the water in groups. Those with children have the option to share a board.

Janet experienced this in October, when the weather wasn't too cold, but the lake water was a bit chilly. If you plan to fall in, it's best to wait until the sun is out to avoid the cold.

The advantage of a Sun Moon Lake SUP sunrise tour is the ethereal mist that hovers around the lake before dawn, making you feel like you're paddling through a traditional landscape painting. The early morning sun is gentle on the skin, and the lake surface is calm, making for a very comfortable experience.

The instructor for this Sun Moon Lake SUP tour frequently reminded participants which areas to avoid, and also provided snacks and sports drinks to refuel.

One instructor guided two groups, totaling about 5 to 6 people. Throughout the activity, they consistently helped take photos and short videos, and even suggested poses for pictures. Janet was pleasantly surprised by the final short video!

A drone was used during the activity, and at the end, participants received a Sun Moon Lake SUP experience certificate, creating a sense of accomplishment. The entire activity was rich in ritual!

James and his friends came for a winter Sun Moon Lake SUP tour, and while sunrise or sunset are usually the most recommended times for these activities, winter in Sun Moon Lake often brings rain and early darkness, so not every venue offers sunset tours during this season. Fortunately, Riyue Tansuo provides sunset tours, though on this particular day, a foehn wind cut the experience short to about 1.5 hours.

Riyue Tansuo boasts new and modern equipment, along with its own private floating island for gear storage. If anyone gets tired during the activity, they can take a break there.

On that day, besides James's group, there was another group of about 10 people. This venue assigned three coaches for the Sun Moon Lake SUP activity: one led the instruction and kept the atmosphere lively with various activities, much to the delight of the friends; another coach took photos, capturing many precious memories for everyone; and a third coach stayed on shore to monitor wind conditions and assess safety. LAZYIVY was staying nearby and had the opportunity to try Sun Moon Lake SUP with Sun Moon Lake Central Experience Camp. The instructor-to-student ratio was about 1:6, but each group typically gets a dedicated instructor.

LAZYIVY highly recommends their photography service. The instructors take the time to understand your preferences, capturing you from every angle, and even offer professional advice on posing or finding the best background.

Our group loved taking photos so much that the instructor called over another colleague to focus solely on our pictures, creating many precious memories. The only minor drawback is that the venue doesn't offer drone photography.

If you get tired during the activity, the instructor will even pull your board along. Afterward, they'll send the photos to a LINE group or upload them to the cloud, and even thoughtfully ask if you need any editing.
