When we arrived, the venue looked like a regular home, but it had a food factory in the back, making it a mixed-use residential and commercial space. There was enough space for 2-3 cars to park temporarily at the entrance, which wasn't brightly lit.

After ringing the doorbell, someone answered and provided a prepared tasting box, along with a detailed explanation of the Taichung Full-Month Cakes program. This included information on how many ounces of savory rice equaled a certain amount of white rice, pricing for delivery and pickup, and food reheating instructions, all explained very clearly.

The "Spoil Me Duo Full-Month Gift Box" we requested was available for a tasting price of $250 (approximately 35% off the original price). It included 12 ounces of savory rice, two red eggs, a fried chicken drumstick, and honey cake. The savory rice was soft and had a mild flavor; the stir-fried mushrooms were particularly memorable for their fragrant and tender texture. After reheating the fried chicken drumstick in the oven at home, the skin was no longer crispy, which was a slight disappointment, but it still retained its juiciness and had a savory soy sauce flavor. The complimentary "Shih Chuan" sweet and spicy sauce tasted like ketchup, with a sweet and sour profile and minimal spiciness; it didn't significantly enhance the flavor of the chicken drumstick, so it's optional. The honey cake was moist and dense, but its flavor was unremarkable, similar to what you might find at a typical supermarket, and not particularly outstanding.

Among the Taichung Full-Month Cakes from BabyFace, the Orange Heart Pound Cake was the most surprising. My previous impression of pound cake was that it was usually dry and needed to be eaten with water, but this version was a revelation. It felt substantial when sliced, yet was moist and tender in the mouth, with the aroma of candied orange peel. The sweetness and fruitiness blended together very naturally. One slice was completely satisfying, and I even wanted another bite.

The cookies were also a great addition. The Button Chocolates were the kind of flavor kids would fight over and adults would love—crispy with rich chocolate in the middle, and adorable shapes. The Oatmeal Crunch became more fragrant with every chew, with nuts and raisins blending together; it was the type you'd want another piece of immediately after finishing one.

What truly stood out about BabyFace wasn't just the cakes themselves, but the feeling of being "meticulously cared for." The "Taichung Full-Month Cakes Tasting Box" we reserved included five main dessert items typically found in full-month gift boxes: the Jinbo Roll (a common fresh cream roll), the Fresh Chocolate Roll, Caramel Fresh Cream Cheese Cake, Apple Pound Cake, and Yuzu Pound Cake.

All five cakes were presented as small slices in the tasting box, priced at NT$250. Overall, it didn't feel like a particularly good value, so we recommend requesting a tasting only if you're genuinely interested in specific desserts.

We picked up our order at the Far Eastern Department Store venue. The staff were professional and friendly, meticulously checking the inner and outer packaging before boxing the cakes.

As for the flavors, the Jinbo Roll, a classic fresh cream roll, had a subtle honey aroma with a perfectly sweet, non-cloying milky filling. Large candied chestnuts in the center added a rich texture. The Fresh Chocolate Roll was slightly more moist than the original, with a distinct bitter chocolate flavor that somewhat overshadowed the milk filling.

This time, Itata wanted to sample more items from their full-month gift boxes, so she ordered two sets: the "Forest Green Journey – Ice Cream Roll Four-Pack" and the "Autumn Bunny – Pound Cake Set."

The ice cream rolls feature different flavored cake bases wrapped around multi-layered ice cream fillings, each with its own unique character. Among the four flavors, Itata personally recommends the matcha, as the combination of matcha and berries is harmonious, not overly sweet, and offers a rich, smooth aroma. As for the lemon flavor, while it's a highly discussed item online, the overall taste is quite tart; even Itata, who usually enjoys sour foods, found it a bit sharp, and the lemon aroma wasn't particularly refined—it's the kind of dessert where "two bites are enough."

The Autumn Bunny – Pound Cake Set includes one jasmine green tea pound cake, two rabbit butter cookies, four Black Knight shield cookies, and two moon cookies.
