The venue spans three floors: the first floor houses the reception counter and a creative merchandise area, while the main interaction zones are on the second and third floors.

The second and third floors are designed as distinct cat interaction areas, catering to different visitor preferences. The second floor features a Japanese-style tatami mat setup, allowing guests to sit on the floor and experience close, affectionate interactions with the cats. The third floor is a wooden climbing platform area, with bright natural light illuminating the wooden pathways, perfect for quietly observing the cats as they play freely.

Beyond interacting with the cats, the venue also offers a diverse selection of savory dishes and desserts, enhancing the overall experience at this Taipei Cat Cafe. The savory menu includes:

Zhuanyunzhan, the venue Hermione visited, operates as a cat rescue and adoption center, which means there are many active cats, making it ideal for those who love interacting with them. This Taipei Cat Cafe is a three-story building, but guests can only choose one floor to interact with the cats and cannot move between floors. The second floor is a tatami space, allowing for very close interaction with the cats, and there are plenty of cat wands available.

The food at this venue is also particularly noteworthy. Both risottos we ordered were delicious, and the set meal even included a liter of lightly sweetened black tea! For dessert, the Basque cheesecake had a rich cheese flavor, much like a classic cheesecake, and the pudding was wonderfully eggy. We hadn't expected much from a cat cafe's food, but Zhuanyunzhan's dishes were surprisingly high quality!

However, be aware that the cats sometimes try to snatch food from the table, so keep a close eye on your meal. There's a slight cat litter smell in the space, but overall, it's quite comfortable.

Vanessa and her friend visited Toast Chat on a cool, uncrowded Saturday afternoon. They were lucky to be seated quickly, finding the venue about one-third full and exceptionally quiet and comfortable.

Five resident cats, all around ten years old, take turns making appearances, each with their own distinct personality and charm. Some gracefully stroll between tables, others bask in the sun by the window, and a few might quietly hop onto a chair to rub against you for affection. A gentle pat on their hindquarters elicits a contented purr, making them the most therapeutic companions for an afternoon tea.

Vanessa ordered the baked tomato beef lasagna, while her friend chose the spicy Mexican chicken nachos, both upgrading to a set meal with drinks. The dishes are made to order, requiring a bit of patience, but arrive steaming hot and fragrant, with generous portions. The lasagna's rich sauce and creamy cheese perfectly meld with the pasta, complemented by a refreshing chamomile tea. Neko Coffee charges by the minute, with a 10-minute minimum and a cap on the maximum spend, so it's most cost-effective to stay long enough to reach that maximum. All drinks are unlimited, with a wide selection including coffee, juice, milk tea, soda, and hot tea, but no food is served, so it's best to eat before you go.

The cats at this venue are all purebreds, but Hermione found most of them to be quite aloof and not very interactive. If you want to see all the cats together, it's best to visit during their scheduled feeding times.

There's a wide variety of seating options, from regular chairs and sofas to beds and even massage chairs. The space is spacious and comfortable, and entertainment like Switch, manga, and board games are available (though some manga series might be incomplete), making it a great choice for a long, leisurely stay.

Paw Forest operates on a strict reservation-only system, requiring punctual arrival. The venue opens its doors only at the scheduled time for guests in that slot, and latecomers may be denied entry. This Taipei Cat Cafe is home to several cats, three meerkats, and two toucans, with its main draw being the chance for close-up interaction with the meerkats and toucans, each for a 10-minute session.

Hermione happened to visit during the toucan feeding time and was lucky enough to have some treats placed on her hand to attract them! However, if you have a camera, the toucans will be shy and won't fly to you. The meerkats are relatively gentle and friendly; while you can't hold them, staff will guide you through the interaction and photo opportunities. These two animal species are less common, but the interactions are both friendly and adorable!

Most of the cats were resting in the afternoon, so there wasn't much interaction with them. As for the food, while prices are on the higher side, the fried platter is substantial and satisfying, and the drinks are quite large, offering generous portions overall. The only minor drawback is a slight cat odor inside the venue, which might be a concern for those sensitive to smells.
