The esthetician was highly skilled, applying and removing the hot wax in a seamless motion, paying meticulous attention to every detail. Since Elise had a history of shaving, the esthetician specifically recommended letting the hair grow to about 0.5 cm for optimal results and reduced discomfort during waxing.

Notably, Elise was 36 weeks pregnant. The esthetician professionally explained that hot waxing can be done from 12 weeks of pregnancy, with sessions recommended every 4 to 6 weeks, and the final session ideally scheduled around 36 weeks. This approach not only enhances comfort during pregnancy but also helps prevent skin irritation from improper shaving during the postpartum confinement period.

This visit was for underarm and leg hair removal, which use slightly different methods. Underarm hair removal took just 10 minutes, and seeing the wax full of hair afterward was incredibly satisfying. For leg hair removal, the esthetician directly applied the wax with a roller from the original French manufacturer, then used strips to remove the hair — a truly novel experience.

This Taipei Hair Removal venue covers a larger area at once, making the process faster but potentially more painful. The entire process, from consultation to hair removal and post-treatment cleansing, took about 1.5 hours. The esthetician first led her to a small room to use the restroom and provided a towel wrap. Then, Amelia lay on the treatment bed, which had a comfortable pillow for her neck.

Before starting, the esthetician disinfected her underarms with alcohol before applying the hot wax. It felt a bit hot at first, but she quickly adjusted.
