Cindy recommends walking towards MRT Exit 4 after exiting the station; after crossing a small intersection, you'll see "Qing'an Fortune Building" printed on the wall, and this Taipei ear-cleaning studio is on the 11th floor of that building. After exiting the elevator, Ear New's sign will be hanging on the right-hand side of the studio door. Since it's by appointment only, there's no need to ring the doorbell; simply knock gently at your scheduled time to enter. (The venue has since relocated to Taichung.) ### ✦Venue Environment Stepping into the Ear New studio, Cindy's first impression was one of warm, gentle healing. The air was filled with a subtle fragrance, soft, warm yellow lights glowed, and the space was decorated in expansive pink and milk-tea tones. Comfortable rattan tables and chairs were available, along with welcome snacks. The venue has two treatment beds, so bringing a companion is not a problem. The studio is decorated with an abundance of dried flowers and soft throw pillows, and even the restroom is adorned with vines and blossoms, creating a relaxing atmosphere reminiscent of a tropical island resort. The walls feature cute, playful decorations and collectibles, much like the lively and friendly impression given by ear-cleaning specialist Amy. While the overall space is compact, it's filled with thoughtful touches. In addition to air purifiers and hot towel warmers, there's a surprising full-length mirror perfect for a quick check of your appearance. Next to it, you'll find a hairdryer, combs, makeup remover, and even dry shampoo, all of which highlight Ear New's meticulous attention to guest comfort. ### ✦Service Details Ear New, as its name suggests, aims to provide a refreshing and comfortable experience. This Guting ear-cleaning venue offers short ear-cleaning sessions that are perfect for first-timers, as well as a full cranial relaxation package for those who often feel pressure in their head, neck, and shoulders. If you want to combine eye washing with ear cleaning, you can choose the silver bead ear-cleaning package. The services and durations for each package can be swapped and customized, so it's recommended to make an appointment and consult with the venue in advance via LINE. Many customers are office workers, so the "Good Night's Sleep" package—a full cranial relaxation that combines ear cleaning with essential oil massage and gua sha—is one of Ear New's most popular signature services. Some clients even fall asleep during the session! If you have specific areas you'd like to focus on or special requests, you can discuss them with your ear cleaner via LINE when booking your appointment. This allows for a customized ear-cleaning experience, which Cindy found particularly thoughtful. 02 ## Ear New Experience Review Ear New Experience Review Cindy experienced the highly-rated "Full Cranial Relaxation and Deep Sleep" treatment. Before the ear cleaning began, the ear care specialist used an endoscope to examine her ear canals and explain their condition. The specialist noted that Cindy has dry ears, which were generally clean, but had some deep-seated secretions that are difficult to remove with cotton swabs. If you often feel an itch in your ears that you can't clean yourself, then ear cleaning is a great option. However, if you have any ear wounds or inflammation, it's best to consult a professional doctor for an assessment. ### ✦Ear Canal Cleaning Before the ear cleaning and candling, the ear cleaner begins with a manual ear acupressure massage. The ears have many acupoints, so this massage is perfect for awakening and relaxing them. Next, the ear cleaner gently brushes the face with natural feathers while using a tuning fork to create a steady, calming vibration that eases any tension before moving on to the ear cleaning itself. During the ear-cleaning process, the ear-cleaning specialist carefully explains the unique properties of each feather type. For example, the soft, delicate peacock feather can stimulate acupoints around the ear canal, promoting circulation for a refreshed, comfortable feeling. Shorter, stiffer chicken feathers and soft goose feathers are used for gentle scraping of the ear canal and surrounding areas, relieving fatigue and relaxing the body and mind. The specialist's movements are gentle, and they constantly observe the client's reactions throughout the process, making Cindy feel completely at ease and comfortable during her entire Ear New experience. ### ✦Ear Candling for Dampness After the ear-cleaning portion, the session moves on to ear candling. The ear-cleaning specialist explained that ear candling deeply cleanses the ears, further helping to eliminate moisture and bringing a deeper sense of relaxation — many guests even fall asleep during this part. During the process, the specialist asked Cindy to lie on her side and gently placed a candle on her ear, lighting it so the candle smoke could enter the ear canal. Cindy truly enjoys the unique crackling sound of ear candling, like sitting beside a warm, crackling fireplace in winter. It brings a special sense of peace and relaxation. Ear candling not only deeply cleanses the ear canal but also induces a wonderfully drowsy, relaxed feeling. After the ear-cleaning, the ear specialist will cut open the burnt ear candle so you can see your ear's condition more directly. Amy's many tests have shown that Taiwan-made ear candles burn best: they drop less ash, have a lighter, more pleasant scent, and burn longer. So even though they cost more, Ear New insists on using these ear candles to ensure the best experience for their clients. ### ✦Head, Neck, and Shoulder Massage After the ear candling, the ear cleaner concluded the session with essential oil gua sha and a head, neck, and shoulder massage. Cindy was first invited to inhale the natural essential oil aroma, then the ear cleaner used massage tools and their hands to perform gua sha and massage on her head, neck, and face with the essential oil. The ear cleaner's massage had ample strength, making the entire process incredibly soothing and relaxing. Beyond the comfort around her ears and eyes, her entire head felt lighter, as if a great weight had been lifted. This concluding procedure was incredibly helpful for full-body relaxation, leaving her feeling certain she would have a truly wonderful night's sleep. Ear New is incredibly meticulous, explaining each step of the ear-cleaning process in detail and introducing every feather tool. The equipment is spotless and neatly arranged, with a consistent, charming color palette that gives the entire experience a gentle, feminine feel.
