Pushing open the door to the private bath, you're greeted by the distinctive aroma of white sulfur spring water. While the stone-tiled tub shows signs of age, once the warm spring water fills it, and you step in, all your worries seem to evaporate with the steam.

For a spontaneous Taipei Hot Springs getaway, Beitou Sweetme Hotspring Resort is an excellent choice. Located right next to Xinbeitou MRT Station, it offers a 1.5-hour pure soaking experience for under NT$1,000 on weekdays, making it ideal for travelers on a budget or with limited time.

As a long-standing venue in Beitou, Beitou Sweetme Hotspring Resort's facilities show their age, but they are meticulously maintained and very clean. Stepping into the private hot spring room, the space isn't vast, but it features a stone-tiled tub and all necessary amenities. As the warm, milky white sulfur spring water slowly fills the tub, its characteristic sulfuric scent gently envelops you, melting away all fatigue in the steamy warmth.

The most delightful surprise is the chilled electrolyte drink in the mini-fridge. Amidst the steamy air, feeling the warmth of the hot spring, a sip of the icy drink perfectly replenishes lost fluids, elevating the soaking comfort to another level. Upon entering, you'll find a sophisticated modern interior, a departure from the Japanese-inspired exterior. The sound of the spring water quickly filling the tub, without any long wait, is enough to lift your spirits.

What truly impressed our mystery shopper, Miaoli, was the impeccable cleanliness. The space was spotless, with no unsightly mold in the corners. Although the tub is long and narrow, there's still ample room for two people to soak comfortably side-by-side. After the warm white sulfur spring washes away your fatigue, a plunge into the single-person cold spring tub delivers an instant, invigorating chill that awakens every cell in your body. Looking out the window while soaking, the green roof of the Beitou Library comes into view, allowing both mind and body to completely unwind.

The friendly guidance and professional explanations from the staff ensured a smooth and pleasant experience, and small snacks were provided after the bath to replenish energy. Given the price point, to enjoy such high-quality dual springs and tranquil moments, it's no wonder Miaoli is already eager to visit again.
