Next up was hair and makeup. The "Ultimate Flawless Look" package for Taipei Korean ID Photos includes skin prep, foundation, brows, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, lip color, blush, concealer, and contouring. Before starting, the makeup artist asked Itata what kind of look she wanted. Itata opted for a more natural, "wild" European-inspired style, requesting no double eyelid tape or false lashes.

The final touch was styling my hair with a curling iron, a truly complete transformation. It just goes to show what a difference a good outfit makes — once I was dressed and had my hair and makeup done, the photos were absolutely stunning!

This Zhongshan photo studio's unique feature is letting customers try three different lighting setups before taking their portrait. I personally prefer a more sculpted, three-dimensional look, so I chose side lighting. You can compare the effects of the different lighting styles before making your decision.

Itata had prior experience with outdoor shoots, so she wasn't camera-shy, but holding poses and expressions for too long can still make you stiff. That's when the photographer would step in with lively guidance, suggesting things like "turn around," "look back," "a little more smile, just a bit more."

The photographer mentioned that most guests tend to be stiff when standing for professional headshots, so having a chair to sit or lean on helps them feel more secure and results in more natural-looking photos. For my headshots, I was given several chairs of different heights, which helped me relax and find a variety of poses.

The photographer sends each shot to a large monitor, so you don't have to crowd around a tiny camera screen, which is incredibly convenient.

Itata had so much fun during the shoot that she ended up with over 200 raw photos. It was agonizing to narrow them down to just seven; if the budget had allowed, she would have loved to buy them all!

You can typically get your ID photos back within an hour on the same day. After the shoot, the photographer quickly retouches any stray hairs, facial asymmetry, eyebrow differences, or minor blemishes to ensure your ID photo looks polished and perfect.

The ID photos come in a cute box, with a variety of designs to choose from. It's like a mini photo frame, and paired with the green suit I wore for the shoot, it's both refined and adorable.
