The check-in point is conveniently close to the launch site, so the whole process isn't too strenuous. It's perfect for couples, families, or first-timers to water sports.

Shuixingzhe also offers the most budget-friendly Yilan SUP prices. During the activity, the coach guides everyone to stand on the board and helps with photography, ensuring you get those beautiful Instagram-worthy shots.

The only minor drawbacks are that the equipment is quite basic, the color palette is conservative, and the paddles aren't height-adjustable.

Yen and a friend joined the afternoon Yilan SUP tour at the Lanyang River estuary, with one board per person. Before we even got in the water, the coach took photos of us on land and helped us adjust our poses. They were also outgoing and easy to talk to, always ready to assist with any requests—truly thoughtful.

Once in the water, the coach first taught us how to stand and balance on the SUP board. After confirming that everyone could paddle correctly, we began our journey toward the estuary.

It was a wonderfully relaxing downstream paddle. Along the way, the coach shared a wealth of knowledge about the wetland ecosystem, pointing out things like geese and ducks foraging nearby, and little terns breeding in the conservation area. It was both fun and educational. Overall, the coach was attentive and professional, making the experience enjoyable, photogenic, and informative.

As for facilities, the meeting point for this Yilan SUP tour is an old house, so be mindful of mosquitoes. Inside, there are four shower rooms and one restroom, each equipped with body wash and shampoo. Hot water is available for a comfortable cleanup, and there are even two hair dryers provided.

This was Yen's first time trying dragon board Yilan SUP, and it was surprisingly stable. According to the instructor, dragon boards almost never capsize, and you can even walk around on them without issue. Since many people paddle together, it's also fine to take a short break if you get tired.

The water quality at Tofu Cape is exceptionally clear and clean, so snorkeling is a must-do if you're doing Yilan SUP in Nan'ao. You'll easily spot a rich coral reef ecosystem!

On the day of our experience, there were four participants, led by one main instructor and two assistant instructors. This high instructor-to-student ratio was very reassuring. The instructors were also lively and constantly attentive to the participants' safety; one of the female instructors was particularly proactive in taking photos for everyone.

Overall, it was a very relaxed and enjoyable experience. We highly recommend this Yilan SUP venue for families with young children, or for anyone who is afraid of water or doesn't know how to swim. However, the rinse area only has cold water for a quick wash, so if you have plans afterward, we suggest bringing your own toiletries and a hairdryer.

Myling chose the early morning Yilan SUP session, the most challenging for her body clock. The half-hour lesson covered paddling, getting on the board, standing up, and other safety tips, with a few corny jokes thrown in to wake everyone up.

NPT Neptune in Dong'ao is highly recommended for beginners who aren't familiar with water sports. You can comfortably try sitting, kneeling, or standing on these boards in the calm bay, enjoying the sea views from different heights.

Before, after, and during the activity, the coaches constantly take photos for everyone: beautiful solo shots with the paddle, warm group photos, and even hilarious "falling in" shots. (The quality, of course, depends on your luck and karma!)

Besides sunscreen, Myling strongly suggests bringing a waterproof speaker and some beer for a mini party on the water. A reminder for those prone to seasickness: take motion sickness medication beforehand for a more comfortable and enjoyable experience!
