Jijumiao Japanese Cat Inn Brand Introduction

Tucked away in a commercial building near the Taipei International Convention Center in Taipei's Xinyi District is Jijumiao Japanese Cat Inn, a tranquil space created just for cats. Inspired by traditional Japanese machiya townhouses, this Taipei Cat Hotels venue combines eco-friendly design with meticulous care, ensuring cats can relax in a low-stimulation, quiet environment. It's more than just a boarding facility; it's a second home prepared especially for them.

Ultimate Japanese Design + Quality Ambiance

Jijumiao Japanese Cat Inn draws inspiration from traditional Japanese machiya townhouses, using classic Japanese colors like vermilion, samurai blue, and fresh green, along with abundant wood textures, to create a high-quality "cat resort" that feels like stepping into a quaint Japanese alley. Unlike the bright or purely functional designs often seen in typical pet boarding facilities, this Taipei Cat Hotels venue opts for a warm, low-stimulation visual environment, allowing both cats and humans to naturally slow down and relax.

Ultimate Japanese Design + Quality Ambiance

When designing the space, Jijumiao Japanese Cat Inn carefully considered how to help people naturally enter the cats' world.

The owners mentioned that if people stand or look down for extended periods, it can create a sense of pressure for cats. Therefore, the design intentionally includes areas where people can comfortably sit, even close to the ground, allowing interaction with the cats at a similar height.

This arrangement helps the cats relax more easily when moving through the common areas, and allows owners to share a leisurely, peaceful daily rhythm with their pets.

Safe, healthy, and designed just for cats

Jijumiao Japanese Cat Inn made "non-toxic and safe" its fundamental premise from the very beginning of its renovation. The owner shared that cats are only one-tenth the size of humans, with a much lower tolerance for scents and chemicals. Even a tiny irritant that humans might not notice could impact a cat's health. Therefore, their goal was to create not just a cat hotel that met regulations, but a space where they themselves would feel safe and comfortable staying for extended periods.

Safe, healthy, and designed just for cats

That's why, during the renovation, we worked with our interior designer to make Jijumiao Japanese Cat Inn Taiwan's first cat hotel to earn GGCb Green Renovation certification. We used green building materials and installed a total heat exchange system, constant temperature and humidity control, and air purification equipment.

Safe, healthy, and designed just for cats

For hydration, a running-water dispenser provides RO-filtered water, ensuring a steady supply of clean, fresh water for the cats daily.

This Taipei Cat Hotels venue also uses a total heat exchanger to continuously bring filtered fresh air indoors. Even without opening windows, the air remains consistently fresh, keeping cats comfortable during longer stays.

Diverse room types, with fun private and public spaces

Jijumiao Japanese Cat Inn offers room types suitable for everything from single cats to multi-cat households. Even the smallest rooms are designed with ample height and multiple levels, allowing cats to jump, move, and rest freely without feeling confined to a cramped space.

Some of the rooms offer more secluded setups, which is ideal for shy or easily stressed cats, giving them a secure place to hide and rest. Sometimes, even walking past a room, you wouldn't know there was a cat inside unless you saw the nameplate, which speaks volumes about the emphasis on privacy.

Diverse room types, with fun private and public spaces

The common area at this Taipei Cat Hotels in Xinyi District serves as a rotating play zone for the cats, featuring cat trees, skywalks, long window perches, and sprint tracks. This setup allows outgoing, active cats to play freely under controlled supervision, while also preventing stress between cats of different personalities.

Catering to both cat owners and their feline friends

Jijumiao Japanese Cat Inn prioritizes the comfort of its feline guests in all care and interactions. Each cat room is equipped with an independent interactive camera and stable Wi-Fi, allowing owners to check on their cats in real time via an app, and even talk to them. This ensures peace of mind while away, reducing separation anxiety by keeping owners connected to their pets during outings or travels.

Catering to both cat owners and their feline friends

The venue adjusts its interaction style to suit each cat's personality. For shyer, more anxious cats, the cat sitter will open the door for playtime and then step away to avoid direct eye contact, which can be stressful. They observe from a distance to see if the cat is willing to explore on its own. If needed, a feline pheromone spray is used in the room's corners to help them feel secure in an unfamiliar environment and gradually relax.

Catering to both cat owners and their feline friends

For cats staying at this Xinyi District cat hotel for the first time, the venue recommends owners stay with their feline friends for about 20 minutes. This allows the cat to get comfortable with the room's scent and the environment's rhythm before a cat sitter takes over. This arrangement provides a buffer for cats transitioning to a new environment and gives owners greater peace of mind when they leave.

Transparent processes and meticulous attention to detail ensure peace of mind for both owners and cats.

This Xinyi District cat hotel has clear check-in requirements: proof of a 3-in-1 or 5-in-1 vaccine administered within the last two years, and flea treatment completed before arrival. These rules immediately show the venue's commitment to a healthy environment for all guests, ensuring every cat staying there is safe and reducing cross-contamination risks. This gives pet parents greater peace of mind when dropping off their feline companions.

Thoughtful check-in reminders help your cat adjust to the new environment more smoothly.

When my cat actually checked in, I truly understood the thoughtful advice in Jijumiao Japanese Cat Inn's check-in reminder to bring along some of the owner's clothes. I hadn't thought much of it initially, but after observing my cat through the in-room interactive camera, I noticed that whenever she rested, she almost always curled up on my clothes. It was then I realized that even a relatively independent cat at home can become particularly reliant on familiar scents in an unfamiliar environment.

#Cats relax and fall asleep shortly after check-in

Liv's cat stayed in Jijumiao Japanese Cat Inn's "Self-Sufficient Room" for a 3-day, 2-night experience. Even as the smallest room type, the space offered ample height and climbing platforms, allowing the cat to jump, roam, and roll freely without feeling caged.

What impressed Liv most was how the entire boarding process and space design clearly prioritized "reducing feline stress." A week before check-in, guests must provide vaccination and flea treatment records from the past two years. The day before check-in, the venue proactively reminds owners to bring familiar toys, blankets, or clothing. After check-in, Liv's cat adapted much faster than expected.

The first impression upon entering the space was one of quiet and fresh air, free from stuffiness or waste odors. Soft background music played at a low volume, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a beauty spa. Even without open windows, the air remained crisp and comfortable. A total heat exchanger was visible, continuously introducing filtered fresh air into the room, complemented by a dehumidifier and air purifier to maintain stable temperature, humidity, and air quality. Even humans felt relaxed in the environment.

During their stay at this Taipei Cat Hotels in Xinyi District, cats are scheduled for supervised playtime in a common area based on their individual state. Only one cat is allowed to play at a time, for about 20–30 minutes per session, and this can happen multiple times a day as needed. Liv's cat enjoyed playtime about twice a day during its stay. Shortly after checking in on the first day, the cat explored the common area for a while, then settled down on the windowsill to rest and sleep.

The cat sitters also provide daily updates on eating, elimination, and activity, complete with photo documentation—Liv received at least 10 photos daily. When the cat's appetite seemed low on the first day, Liv asked the venue for observation and received a quick response. Liv observed that the venue and cat sitters were highly familiar with feline behavior, adjusting care in real-time based on the cat's state, ensuring high transparency throughout.

With its convenient location, about a 6-minute walk from MRT Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station, Liv found the overall experience, at NT$800 per day, to be well worth it for both short-term and long-term stays.
