About Orange Table Cooking Class

This Taipei cooking class, located near Mingde MRT Station, is just a three-minute walk from the exit. The three-story building, emblazoned with "Kao Hsuan Foods" and an orange-red awning, houses Orange Table Cooking Class on the second floor. Drawing on years of experience importing Western ingredients, the class offers hands-on cooking instruction in a bright, clean space. There are no overly strong decorative elements, just large, curved corner windows and an array of appetite-inducing orange kitchenware, all designed to prepare you for a delightful cooking experience.

Cooking Class Environment

Myling's first impression of Orange Table Cooking Class was its bright, spotless cleanliness. To the left of the reception area, a special spice rack and storage space are provided to prevent coats or bags from picking up cooking odors, and complimentary welcome tea or hot coffee is available. The venue boasts rare steam ovens, meticulously designed smoke extraction systems, and individual workstations equipped with gas stoves and mobile kitchen cabinets — environmental conditions that even professional chefs who have visited numerous Taipei cooking classrooms would highly commend! Orange Table Cooking Class insists on using open-flame equipment, which is more complex to comply with regulations, solely to closely simulate both classroom and home cooking conditions, thereby lowering the barrier to cooking.

The cooking demonstration class was a truly thoughtful and welcoming experience, from the overall ambiance to the course design. The instructor's hands-on guidance ensured every detail was perfect, fostering a warm and engaging atmosphere both during and after the class, making even new students feel right at home. The only minor drawback was the somewhat simplified paper recipe, which meant Myling, who isn't very familiar with Chinese cuisine, spent the entire class diligently taking detailed notes.

However, this in-person class, engaging all five senses—sight, sound, color, taste, and touch—truly teaches the nuances of cooking. You quickly master the intricate details of stir-frying, deep-frying, and pan-frying even complex Chinese dishes, an experience that simply can't be replicated by text recipes or online videos alone. We also highly commend the zero-waste approach and the incredibly convenient 100-point ingredient shopping service, both of which are ideal for busy professionals looking to learn practical culinary skills.

Chinese Noodle Making Hands-On Class

This time, Ah-Shun took Teacher Meng's Chinese pastry practical class, making sesame flatbread and string bean wheat ear buns. During the experience, Ah-Shun learned that Teacher Meng has published dozens of baking and cooking books and participated in cooking TV shows. Growing up in a military dependents' village, she later went to the United States to study cake decorating. Her background in both Chinese and Western pastries and desserts has naturally garnered her many fans. Ah-Shun met several returning customers, and the teacher mentioned that some of them were overseas Chinese who had specifically returned to Taiwan to attend her classes!
