Founders Shun and Hane met at a Tokyo jewelry design school, where they studied jewelry making, design drawing, and gemology. After graduating, they each spent several years working in Japan's jewelry industry, forging deep connections with century-old jewelry companies KAJITA and FUJIMORI.

KAJITA and FUJIMORI wanted to extend their century-old jewelry craftsmanship into a more personal, hands-on experience. They envisioned a space where every couple could interact closely with artisans and craft their own unique wedding rings. This vision brought Sunny Side Studio to life.

The Chinese character "Xin" (昕) in the studio's name signifies the rising sun, sunlight gracing the earth, and brightness. The founders hope that within this sun-drenched space, the hands-on experience will allow each couple's story to be preserved in the purest, warmest way. As FUJIMORI's president once said, "Meaningful experiences in life are often more precious than simply owning material possessions."

Sunny Side Studio offers two distinct experience spaces.

The second floor houses the workshop for 925 silver rings, bracelets, K18 wire rings, and other Taichung Metalworking items. Designed with a sophisticated palette of dark green and warm wood tones, complemented by the lush greenery visible outside the windows, this space invites every visitor to slow down and savor dedicated time with a partner, friends, or family while creating these beautiful pieces.

The third floor is dedicated to DIY wedding bands and engagement rings, a workshop space with expansive windows that invite natural greenery and warm sunlight indoors. SHUN and HANE deliberately chose a palette of deep wood tones and creamy white as the main colors, symbolizing the purity of a wedding while echoing the warm, minimalist aesthetic of Japanese design. Dark wood furniture and lush greenery accent the space, creating an environment where guests can fully immerse themselves in the crafting experience.

Throughout the studio, the Japanese artisan spirit of "handmade perfection" is evident. Not only did SHUN and HANE personally paint the walls, but they also designed and built the Taichung Metalworking workbenches used by guests, from initial concept and size planning to the final blueprints, all from an artisan's perspective.

Sunny Side Studio carries on the crafting methods of its sister workshop in Japan, where the forging process involves repeated heating, hammering, stretching, and shaping. This makes the metal grains more compact (often called work hardening), resulting in rings that typically have higher hardness and better wear resistance—perfect for wedding bands that are worn daily and subjected to everyday wear and tear.

Additionally, the forging process, unlike casting, doesn't require a long wait time; you can take your finished rings home the very same day! Because each step requires manual adjustment, it's ideal for small-batch production or custom orders.

Juliet initially thought a handmade wedding ring might lack the refined elegance of fine jewelry, but seeing the finished product completely changed her mind. She chose an 18K gold wedding ring with a "snowfield" texture, while her husband opted for a Platinum 950 ring with an "earth" texture. During their experience, Sunny Side Studio specifically taught them daily maintenance methods: a soft eyeglass cloth is sufficient for regular wiping, and the rings can be worn normally while showering or washing hands, as long as strong acids and bases are avoided. Platinum rings are fine for hot springs, and K18 gold is generally okay too, but it's recommended to remove them for sulfur or acidic hot springs.

Additionally, Sunny Side Studio provides after-sales services such as ring cleaning and maintenance. If their rings need attention in the future, they can return to the studio for assistance.
