The lobby offers unlimited complimentary beverages, and public facilities include laundry and drying areas. Notably, in line with its eco-friendly philosophy, guests at this hostel are asked to self-collect pillowcases and bed sheets upon checkout for recycling.

This time, I stayed in a dorm room. While the bed space felt compact, the small platform at the head of the bed was perfectly designed for placing essentials like phones and glasses, and the card-activated outlets ensured plenty of power. However, the wooden ladder to the upper bunk creaked noticeably with every step late at night, and the thin curtain separating the beds offered somewhat limited privacy, which might require adjustment for travelers who value personal space.

The communal bathrooms, however, were surprisingly good. Stepping in, fresh air replaced any dampness, and hot water cascaded down, washing away the day's fatigue. The powerful hairdryers also dried hair quickly.

The "Honesty Shop" on the first floor of the hostel is a lifesaver! Although you need to bring your own slippers, it has everything from emergency paper slippers and towels to late-night snacks and drinks, thoughtfully solving travelers' unexpected needs. AHIRUYAH, where Hermione stayed this time, is located in downtown Kaohsiung, very close to the MRT station, Liuhe Night Market, and Kaohsiung Main Station, making transportation very convenient. During her stay, she saw many foreign travelers, and the front desk staff could assist in multiple languages, including Chinese, English, and Japanese, making it the most international of the Kaohsiung Hostels she has experienced.

Pulling open the thick door, the room was clean and fresh, with a faint scent of cleanliness in the air. The mattress was neither too soft nor too firm, allowing her to shed the fatigue of travel as soon as she lay down. However, if you are sensitive to sound and light, be aware that the occasional creaking of the bed frame might break the silence late at night, and neon lights from outside could subtly peek through gaps in the curtains. Bringing your own eye mask and earplugs is recommended for a more secure night's sleep.

The bathroom was kept spotless, without any odor. The showerhead delivered a strong, warm stream of water, washing away the day's grime, and the powerful hairdryer quickly dried her hair. The coin-operated washer and dryer in the hostel were also thoughtfully provided for long-term travelers.

Stepping into the dorm room, the air felt fresh thanks to the dehumidifier, eliminating any potential dampness that can occur with multiple occupants. The bed, with its crisp white sheets, looked inviting and indeed provided a restful night's sleep, allowing me to feel secure even in an unfamiliar environment. Although the aisle in the room was a bit narrow, the satisfying click of my 20-inch suitcase sliding easily into the large locker instantly put my mind at ease.

I appreciated the efficiency of the self-check-in process. While it lacked the personal touch of a front desk, the freedom to enter and exit with a key card offered greater flexibility for my trip.
