Ariel tried Love Ocean Workshop's sunrise Penghu SUP experience, which took place in Suogang Hangwan, chosen for its ideal sunrise orientation and wind conditions. Since the venue is a short distance from the launch point, participants ride scooters there after checking in and getting geared up.

The instructor was thorough, covering everything from the history of SUP to adjusting paddle length before getting in the water, with a very detailed and serious introduction.

The session began with practicing boarding techniques and self-rescue after falling in, all near the shore. Once everyone was comfortable, the group paddled out to a more distant area.

Throughout the experience, the instructor stayed nearby, offering guidance, taking photos, and ensuring safety. Ariel fell in a couple of times, and the instructor was always there, gently teaching how to get back on the board, which made her feel very secure!

The overall duration and distance of this SUP experience are longer than other venues. We recommend this Penghu SUP for energetic, younger adventurers.

Sunshine Beach Club is one of the few Penghu SUP venues that allows solo bookings, and it's a safe choice for beginners thanks to clearly marked SUP zones and lifeguards on shore.

However, the pre-activity instruction is relatively brief, without extensive SUP lessons. Also, be aware that this venue does not have private changing rooms; after your session, you'll need to use the outdoor fixed showers for a quick rinse.

I was lucky enough to spot a sea turtle during my SUP experience. Overall, Ariel believes Sunshine Beach Club's SUP is better suited for experienced stand-up paddlers who don't need coaching and appreciate the convenience of going out solo. It's also ideal for those who prefer to skip lengthy lessons and get straight to enjoying the water.

Near the shore, there are other swimmers and the waves at Shanshui Beach can be quite active, so it's important to pay attention to your direction. The instructor stays with you throughout the activity, monitoring the situation and encouraging you to try different poses for photos. If you fall in, there's no need to worry; the instructor will help you get back on your board.

The changing rooms at Underwater Walk were what impressed me most. Many other venues offering these activities in Penghu have limited, mixed-gender changing facilities, but here, they are separate for men and women, and there are plenty of them. The venue has many instructors and the space is well-organized, allowing visitors to get started quickly without feeling cramped or chaotic.

I recommend this Penghu SUP experience to anyone who loves taking beautiful photos and values privacy. After your session, you can stay and enjoy Shanshui Beach for more fun and photos.

Penghu Leisure Workshop is one of the few Penghu SUP venues located in the inner sea. While you won't see the vast expanse of sea and sky, you can enjoy views of the city and observe Penghu's cage aquaculture. Because the inner sea is calmer, with less wind and waves, beginners have a greater chance of successfully standing up on the board.

However, there are oyster rafts near the water, so be careful not to get too close to avoid injury. Also, the venue states that photography is not an obligation, so it's recommended to bring your own camera equipment.
