The class began with the instructor explaining basic fragrance knowledge, then guiding May through over 35 top, middle, and base notes to savor each one.

The scent selection process starts with a primary base note. May chose one main scent, then paired it with three top notes (fresh, sweet citron, yuzu, and fig milk), one middle note (spicy ginger), and one base note (woody cypress).

Next came the blending phase, where May could adjust the proportions of each fragrance based on her preferred main notes. This stage was full of surprises and variations; just one drop more or less could completely change the overall character. The instructor patiently guided May, allowing her to try multiple formulas until she created her perfect, unique scent.

The liquid color could also be freely adjusted, and glitter could be added for an enhanced visual effect. Furthermore, there was a rich selection of perfume bottle styles and colors. After bottling, May could apply personalized stickers to decorate and create a truly unique perfume appearance.

The instructor is extremely knowledgeable about each scent, providing professional and practical advice on scent selection and proportion adjustments. Overall, this class is perfect for perfume DIY beginners or anyone who loves creating their own unique fragrance!

However, one small drawback was that while the class was held in a relatively private area, a lively party was happening at the next table during the blending session. The festive atmosphere made it difficult to hear the instructor clearly, and we had to speak loudly to communicate.

This environment somewhat impacted the immersive experience of the perfume blending process, making it hard to fully relax and concentrate. We only briefly mentioned it to the instructor at the time without making further demands, but after the class, we suggested that they optimize the learning environment in the future to provide a quieter experience. Xiangjian Xiaolu responded that they would consider offering classes as private bookings to enhance the overall quality of the experience.

For her DIY perfume blending class, May had already shared her preferred reference scents and any disliked notes when booking. Upon entering the studio, she was greeted by a table laden with over 100 fragrance ingredients! Fortunately, the instructor had pre-selected 10 for her to sample, saving her nose from exhaustion and the day from ending before she could even begin.
