Review#A superb freediving stay in Longdong with an excellent location
Ofucos primarily employs young instructors, but they are all highly experienced and generous with their knowledge, sharing insights into the beauty of the underwater world and essential tips for beginners. May found herself internalizing their enthusiastic advice.
The theory lessons began with understanding the body's structure and respiratory organs, complemented by custom-made videos and practical exercises. For a beginner like May, these were incredibly helpful for breath-holding, breath regulation, and equalization.
During practical sessions, the instructors meticulously filmed each dive, allowing May to immediately spot and correct any flaws in her technique. Under their guidance, she felt secure learning more diving skills. While visibility in Longdong isn't always ideal, its proximity makes it convenient for those living in northern Taiwan to return for re-tests or regular group practice.
Beyond instruction, the instructors placed a strong emphasis on water safety. In addition to sharing correct concepts, they used simulated drills to teach May how to assist others in the event of an accident, preventing potential tragedies. This was truly invaluable. While diving is a challenging sport, the instructors at Ofucos made it accessible and enjoyable, making it May's top recommendation for Taipei Freediving.
